People already look to Geoff Pitts from Thunder Drift as the “go to guy” for any drifting related news stemming from Northern California, but Geoff has just proven that he’s on top of other forms of racing as well. He Facebooked me this link from this past weekend’s ALMS race at Laguna Seca, where Gil de Ferran fought a close battle and won his last race in the American Le Mans Series before his retirement as a driver… but that wasn’t the only exciting thing happening on the last lap of this race!
Watch closely for some exciting action from the GT2 battle between Jorg Bergmeister‘s Flying Lizard Porsche 911 and Jan Magnussen‘s Corvette C6.R! Admittedly, I don’t follow American Le Mans too closely, but that was probably the most exciting last lap of ALMS I’ve ever seen! What an exciting crash! I hear Bergmeister was penalized and suspended for it though…

props to the porsche driver, dirty driving deserves more dirty driving.
I think I read somewhere that both were penalized. It was an exciting finish indeed. It seems that the Corvette was pushing the Porsche more looking at the speed at which he spun and went right.
bahahahaha way to hype me up Antonio… thanks <3

Dude can you give me some type of Motormavens trophy for double posting?! I need to format this wack laptop so I can stop having to refresh my browser every other minute. My bad guys! =\
Had you guys seen the whole race you would understand that vette was a test car and they had been haveinh problems with loss of grip when he got I. Someone draft. That being said if you had just watched 5 laps of the race you would have seen that the FL 911 had been blocking the vette from passing. Jorge was in the wrong he gave the guy a tap which for the most part can be done I. The alms but trying to run someone into the wall then pitting them when you can’t isn’t cool in any racing seris I know of.
