From what I can tell most of our Mavens live in warm places somewhere in the USA, with very little snow to speak of except for that white stuff that collects at the top of the mountains. For those of us here in Ontario, Canada however, snow is something we’ve grown up with; at this point it would be weird for most of us to see a winter without it.
With that being said, we here in the Drift Posse camp have always been very much of the belief that our annual winter practice regimen is what keeps our boys fresh in their drivers’ seats for the upcoming drift season, and this year is no different.
Still, it’s been another fairly dry winter season this year, and our practice sessions have been kept fairly short, or completely canceled due to finicky weather conditions. On this particular evening however, we found ourselves really having some fun with what could potentially be one of the best snowfalls of the year. After much discussion, my brother Pat and I decided this would be potentially our only chance to film a proper video in the off season, so we decided to make the best of it!
I honestly have to say that this is the most fun I’ve had making an off season video to date. It seemed a little stressful during the shooting process, but once we got back home and checked the cameras we were really happy with what we had.
So, hope you enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it, and I’ll see ya’ll pretty soon with the drift season creeping ever closer!

Im from Scarborough Ontario, and I gotta say. This is why I love the snow.
That looks hellllllllllla funnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!! Hey I think we need to see more photos of your Pat’s non-competition AE86. I love streetcar AE86s! Post up some pics in the forum maybe?
Let’s see em!
Loved that Dan – just the sound of the engine. Funny seeing the tracks of the car and then your footprints leading to the camera.
Love the sensible ending with the indicator!
@CANWagon- I just wish we had more snow this year though. I was fully prepared for shooting this winter, and mother nature really let me down for the most part, other than with this vid.
@Antonio- http://www.motormavens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=906 😛
@Patrick- Thanks dude!! Yeah those industries were a mess of tire tracks and footprints by the end of the evening.
Thanks for the link, Dan! The car looks soooo FUN and mean!
I’m saddened by the fact that the car is gonna be rusty as hell eventually from all the snow, but on the other hand, I love the video and photos of it being put to good use!
It’s not even the snow that kills us up here, Antonio! It’s all the damn salt they lay that really kicks the shit out of our cars!
Looks like its in slo-mo. Snow drifting is good times. My dang suby wants to get going to fast though. My civic was actually more fun.
Oliver’s got it right, the salt is evil. My jeep has no floors. At all. Just carpet. For looks.
And Pat’s car is what Jover just coined as being “Ontario-mint”. I think there’s a lot of rusty/seized parts on that car, though.
wait… what? Ontario mint? I don’t get it. Sorry.
Ontario-mint = Looks good outside! …until the bondo starts wearing and you look underneath the car. 😛
haha looks fun!
