Rod and Kulture’s DragFest 2010

Here is my follow up video to Antonio’s coverage of the Rod and Kulture DragFest at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California. I was there at the event last year, and the impact of the funny cars still hadn’t left me. However, now I think they’ve left a permanent mark on me after this years event.

I’m telling you, trying to hold a camera steady as one of those cars passes you on the dragstrip is a SERIOUS challenge. As the nitro dragsters and funny cars pass you along the quarter mile drag strip, you can feel it in your chest! The ground shakes from all the displaced air, as smoke (and sometimes flame) shoot out the stainless formed headers… it’s just amazing.

This year, it seemed like there were more cars were running than what I remember from last year’s event, along with a greater variety of nostalgic dragsters. We’re not sure if our readers are as captivated by this stuff as we are, so if you think we should increase our coverage of these types of events, please let us know! Enjoy!

Travis you masochist no doubt you enjoyed every second. No but seriously, you put in a lot of time next to those Dragsters. Great video buddy.

  3. Seriously, I loved this video too. This was certainly a fun and refreshing video, and I think the music from Doors perfectly matched how our crew’s trying to break on through to the other side!

I’m VERY enthused when it comes to retro funny cars and nitro dragsters! COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
