I’ve been familiar with the WeatherTech brand for years, as a fan of IMSA GT racing and WeatherTech Raceway (aka Laguna Seca Raceway) in Monterey CA. In fact, anyone who has ever been to a car dealership in the past 10 years has most likely encountered WeatherTech, MacNeil’s mega-popular brand of all weather floor mats.
Most of my older cars have custom floor mats, but for my daily driven Lexus, a third generation GS (chassis code GRS191), I decided to get a sturdier, more durable set of floor mats. Enter the all-new WeatherTech Floor Liners, available from PartCatalog.com.
These floor liners stand apart from the traditional flimsy rubber mats, because they’re made of durable, tough plastic, and are laser cut with precision to have a perfect fit on the floorboards of your car. Apparently, WeatherTech has these new floor liners available for all vehicles.
WeatherTech’s new Floor Liner completely lines the interior carpet – the front, back and even up the sides of the 2006 Lexus GS 300’s front footwell. Digital laser measurements of interior surfaces offer a consistently perfect fit. Very impressive. Apparently, these floor liners even have a 3 year warranty from WeatherTech.
These new WeatherTech floor liners feel extremely sturdy (pictured here is the passenger side floor liner). They’re made from MacNeil’s patented High-Density Tri-Extruded (HDTE) material, which have a good feel, and will protect your factory carpet without scuffing up your shoes (this is an important detail for people wearing expensive dress shoes to work, or for limited edition sneakerheads).
Just in case you spill your coffee or soda while driving, you don’t need to worry if you haveWeatherTech floor liners. They have channels that carry fluids and debris to a lower reservoir with further channeling to help minimize fluid movement while driving. Once fluids become trapped in the reservoir, away from shoes and clothing, they are easily removed from the WeatherTech FloorLiner over the door sill. Seriously though, you shouldn’t be drinking coffee and soda in your car anyway.
I absolutely love my new WeatherTech floor liners. I only ordered the front set, but apparently, WeatherTech makes a lot of different parts for my car! Maybe I’ll try out the side window deflectors and custom cut sunshade next! I especially need a new sunshade, since Southern California is experiencing a ridiculous all-year heat wave.
If you’re looking for some all weather floor protection for your car, you should definitely check these floor liners out!
