Listen to the awesome sound of this vintage Honda RA272 Grand Prix car as Dario Franchitti takes the famous – and immaculately kept – Mexico Grand Prix winning car out for a spin. This 1.5-liter V12, 230 horsepower vintage GP racer is the very same car that scored Honda its very first Grand Prix win at the 1965 Mexico Grand Prix, a race won by Richie Ginther.
When Franchitti described his experience with the car, he said the sound of the engine, its precise gearbox, and its unique handling made him think the car was very similar to a motorcycle! (more…)

I think I’ve found my new hero – Adam Craver. This guy epitomizes machines and the visceral feeling we get from them. However, he philosophizes on a major issue that has been brought up politically over the past few decades: the deindustrialization of America. Seeing that we’re on an automotive site, I’m certain that we know the difference between a Phillips and a flat head screwdriver; heck, most of us probably know the difference between a flathead engine and an overhead valve engine. But he makes a great point – there is little knowledge and desire within our emerging generation to create physical things. Craftsmen aren’t being replaced and the shortage is disheartening. (more…)

Just like the Mooneyes Christmas Party, this was going to be another event where we would feel like fish out of water. Even though we appreciate the hell out of vintage BMWs, we honestly don't know a whole lot about them because most of us grew up around Japanese cars. COVERAGE> Kop Hill Hillclimb 2009
On the 26th and 27th of September, organisers decided to do a Kop Hill Commemorative Run to bring the sounds and sights and even smells (mmm, Castrol R) back to Kop Hill again. Over 250 cars and bikes were there, ranging in age from the 1900s right up to 1980s and even some very special modern cars. Read more...
