GALLERY> DragonSpeed Audi R8 at Dubai 24 Hours
DragonSpeed took the world stage for the first time at the Dunlop 24H Dubai recently and delivered an impressive performance, finishing 11th overall and fifth in class from 80 starters. Only a surfeit of time penalties and late race mechanical gremlins kept the Florida-based team from taking a place in the Top 10 and a step on the Class A6 Pro-Am podium with its GT3 Audi R8 LMS Ultra. PERSPECTIVE> My First Experience At Nurburgring
First impressions are lasting impressions, and my first impression about the Nurburgring is that it's absolutely unreal. As you make your way into the Eifel Mountain region of western Germany, it becomes more and more difficult to comprehend that something like the Nordschleife exists. The cascading mountains covered in dense forest, although the perfect place for your dream course or a video game, don't seem a feasible locale for a high speed, high stakes race track. I would liken the feeling to going to an amusement park as a kid and trying to fathom that so much awesome could be in one place. In today's world of rules, regulations, and protocol, this place should not happen (at least not easily and with lots of paperwork). However, the automotive dreamland that is the Nurburgring was conceived in a time when they only cared about one thing: racing. Read more...
COVERAGE> Cars of The LA Auto Show

CARSPOTTING> The Audi e-Tron
At this year's LA Auto Show it seemed the topic du jour was green car technologies. However, when you think of an eco-friendly or zero emissions vehicle, I'm sure the last thing you see in your mind's eye is the Audi e-Tron (pictured above). It's hard to believe this sick “super-car” contains a purely electric drive system. The e-Tron has four engines (yes, four) that produce 313hp (230kw) and 3,319.03 lb-ft (4,500 Nm) of Torque. WTF! It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 - 100 km) in 4.8 seconds. Now that's what I'm talking about! The e-Tron's lithium-ion battery is a beast as well. Its range according to Audi is about 154 miles (248km). Funny thing is, according to Top Gear, Audi's R8 was the most fuel efficient super-car. I’m thinking Audi is about to outdo itself in this area. Nice... Read more...
