If you’ve been tuning in to MotorMavens lately, you’ll know that Joe Ayala and I recently returned from a trip to Norway to cover the three day Gatebil Festival in Rudskogen. Thanks to Team Yellow Drift and Racing, we were able to shoot virtually nonstop action as well as live comfortably in between drifting spectacles. We enjoyed local cuisine, local people, and most importantly – local race cars. Joe and I saw an endless number of home built drift and grip machines, ranging from 100-1000hp strong. No vehicle is turned away at Gatebil. (more…)

TweetI couldn’t make it to All Star Bash AGAIN this year, so I can’t offer much insight to the event. What I do know is that many shenanigans were had, with the usual fireworks and drinking. During the day, the 108 degree weather put a huge damper on the action, making the night drifting the “cool” thing to do. (more…)

Oh snap! We’re still working on compiling and posting all the photos we took at Mitsubishi Owners Day 2011 at the Mitsubishi corporate offices in Cypress CA. I got to the event super early, mostly because our good friend Brian Urbano from Mitsubishi kept hyping the event online through Twitter, Facebook, and direct text messages to us, saying… “Yo! Are you coming? It’s gonna be soooo fun!”
The event definitely WAS fun, but I’ll be honest. I screw up sometimes. I was so concerned with picking up a friend and getting to the event on time, I forgot to put my memory card case in my camera bag! #FAIL!!! Yup, I know. LOSERRRR. Good thing one of our MotorMavens shooters, Horacio Flores, owns a Mitsubishi Evo X! He showed up to the event later in the day and took some photos for the site! Whew… he saved me from my royal screw up! (more…)
